Karaoke Nite

After our Tuesday night bike ride on the Wasatch Crest, we popped in for some grub and happened upon Karaoke Nite at Hooters.

The host was pretty desperate to get some singers, so I decided to grace the “stage” near completely empty bar stools and other people that just wanted to eat their food in peace.

They had some good songs on there so I decided to try a couple. The program was running on a Mac computer, and it crashed twice. Yes, they do crash, people.

Downata & Lava Hot Springs Idaho

We spent the weekend at Downata Hot Springs Idaho for a family reunion, and also had a chance to spend a day in Lava Hot Springs, maybe 20 miles away?  I’m too lazy to Google Map it right now.

As expected, here are some video and pictures:

…and this video makes me feel sad for my pootie boy. I promised him we wouldn’t fall in, but I underestimated this tiny little rapid on the river and we ended up flipping. He was absolutely terrified after this. I managed to hold on to him the whole time though.

Man Trip 2009

So the boys and I do this twice a year; A summer trip and winter.

Each time, we stay in Matt’s cabin up in the Uintas, play some Rock Band, Halo, and other video games, thrown in with a little Texas Hold ‘Em and what not.

In the summer we go fishing and Four Wheeling, and in the Winter we go tubing and pee in the snow.

We played a classic prank on Dave this time ’round. He came up around midnight, so we hid in the bushes with a stuffed deer head and scared the crap out of him.  Ha Ha

We fished at lakes Lily and Whitney, and rode around near the Wolverine Trail.

Porter Goes Fishing

Porter went fishing for the first time today, we went to Cold Springs Trout Farm – http://www.coldspringstroutfarm.com/

We caught a couple and called it good, it was fun to see Porter’s reaction to the fish.

Weekend at Bear Lake

We stayed with the Fam at the Bear Lake Cabin this weekend. We went to the beach and did a little snorkeling and played some volleyball. We also hit the pool at Ideal Beach (the old Sweetwater resort), and took the lil ‘uns for a quick ATV ride.

On the way up, we stopped at Rick Springs.

The boys went golfing a couple of rounds, but I’m just not a golfer.  Bryan did take a direct hit from a golf ball to his bare abdomen – from Clint – while standing in the water with snorkeling gear on.  lol

Things to do at Bear Lake that we didn’t get to this time:

  • Bloomington Lake
  • Paris Ice Caves
  • Boating
  • ATVing
  • Minnetonka Cave
  • Limber Pine Trail

Justin’s Salsa Recipe

Here is the salsa recipe for what I brought to Kevin & Janis’ house:

.

@ 10 Roma Tomatoes

1/2 to 3/4 of a purple onion

@ 20 Cilantro leaves

3 cloves of garlic

1 Jalepeno pepper

@ 1 teaspoon of salt

@ 1 teaspoon of lime juice

.

Blend together with chopper or blender to a smooth texture.

**Try your own variation of these, none of my ingredients are measured exactly.  It’s always done to taste.

.

Best served with Tostitos “Hint of Lime” chips, or Santitas White Corn chips.
